In Love With Glass!
At KOC we are as much in love with as the wedding themes. Yesterday someone shared their experience of a wedding party that had lot of glassware. And no it was not limited to crockery but extended to décor. It seems the wedding looked spectacular with glass lamps and centrepieces radiating a lot of sparkle but an hour into the wedding, many of the pieces had been smashed by children who attended the do. We can’t even begin to imagine how the host would have felt finding the dream wedding décor turn into a total disaster!
Don’t get us wrong, we are in love with glassware. It is classy, elegant and absolutely gorgeous but there are ways to integrate it in your wedding that are safe and childproof. First of all, try and create a decoration that is propped up high like lamps suspended from ceiling. If at all some pieces need to be on the ground, make sure that they are attached to something unbreakable and solid. For example- a glass encasing propped up on a heavy wooden base that would not topple on a nudge. If glass moulds are part of your centrepieces then place them in the middle, amongst things like flower bouquet and other knick knacks. This will keep them safe and out of reach from younger guests. You can also have tiny glass pieces adorning the walls with flower decoration.

Such glass lamps and other decorative pieces do not break easily since they havemetal bracket to hold them in case of a fall. Avoid placing breakable centrepieces around the venue on the ground, they are easy to topple and trust us you cannot even trust adults with them! Another nice way to get the glass creations to do up your wedding is to have only one corner of the entire wedding done up in magnificent glass. This can be the stage or photo booth though we vote for stage because stage is a place where children cannot hover for a long time because of the inflow of guests thereon.
