2015- The Year That Was Knotty Awesome!
It is a surreal feeling as we say good bye to 2015 and a feeling of excitement as we gear up for the New Year. This last year, it was wonderful to connect with our readers and clients through our ever expanding marriage cards collection ranging from , interfaith ones, other invites and these blogs. Our new entrants were received warmly by one and all and the older ones held their ground in people’s heart. As we get ready to step into the next year, it is all but natural to feel the nostalgia.
We began talking about our cards through first few write ups and then migrated to the symbolisms of a wedding. Right from Maang tika to mehendi, we covered every possible thing. By the time we were done with the auspicious symbols, it was high time to give our readers glimpses of wedding ceremonies all across India. And what fun we had finding out about unique and rare experiences of weddings that spanned across East, West, North and Eastern parts of this great country. We were literally panting by the time we got this one done!

Hot Wedding Theme Trends For 2016!
Well 2016 is knocking at our doors and we realised this was the best time to share the trends that are sure to rule the wedding themes next year! As far as the trends are concerned, KOC is always at your beck and call. For rest, read on readers!
Pop culture that made a big splash in 2015 is still going strong and we expect more zest and quirk coming in the next year. Bold colours, unconventional motifs and very cool couples are going to be very “in” in 2016 as well. Remember we keep doing “how to save on your wedding” tips every now and then. It seems it’s a trend every couple is in love with! So yes more and more weddings are going to flaunt DIY factor and have those special personal touches from the couple and hosts. Outdoors look like the flavour of 2016 and so be prepared to have a celebration amidst sprawling gardens, woods, winery, botanical gardens and such other awesome locations!
Online Indian Wedding CardsThe Mughal and Moroccan styled lamps and lighting would also continue to show up in weddings with floor and low seating. However, use of colour and palette would be far from gaudy. The ambience even with such traditional theme would be modern owing to shades of pastels with some vibrance added here and there! Some weddings might take on a rustic mood with wooden benches and wild flowers and shrub decoration all around the venue and on tables- another reason why outdoors are going to be hot in 2016. The French touch to our Indian food would be more evident than it ever has been before. We expect a lot of “Served at table” dining with small portions presented in OMG! way. So overall it is rule of soft shades except where it is pop culture wedding with delicate portions served right at the table.
We at KOC strive to match up with all ruling trends so if you want your own set of customised, get in touch with us. If there are pieces in our collection that catch your fancy then order for and we will serve it right at your doorstep- a la French!
With all the “feel good” wedding air that surrounded us in the past year and more of it expected in 2016, we wish all our readers and clients a great 2016 ahead!
In Love With Glass!
At KOC we are as much in love with as the wedding themes. Yesterday someone shared their experience of a wedding party that had lot of glassware. And no it was not limited to crockery but extended to décor. It seems the wedding looked spectacular with glass lamps and centrepieces radiating a lot of sparkle but an hour into the wedding, many of the pieces had been smashed by children who attended the do. We can’t even begin to imagine how the host would have felt finding the dream wedding décor turn into a total disaster!
Don’t get us wrong, we are in love with glassware. It is classy, elegant and absolutely gorgeous but there are ways to integrate it in your wedding that are safe and childproof. First of all, try and create a decoration that is propped up high like lamps suspended from ceiling. If at all some pieces need to be on the ground, make sure that they are attached to something unbreakable and solid. For example- a glass encasing propped up on a heavy wooden base that would not topple on a nudge. If glass moulds are part of your centrepieces then place them in the middle, amongst things like flower bouquet and other knick knacks. This will keep them safe and out of reach from younger guests. You can also have tiny glass pieces adorning the walls with flower decoration.
Hindu marriage Invitation cardIf your budget allows, then try to get your hands on glassware that is encased within intricate metal frames. Such glass lamps and other decorative pieces do not break easily since they havemetal bracket to hold them in case of a fall. Avoid placing breakable centrepieces around the venue on the ground, they are easy to topple and trust us you cannot even trust adults with them! Another nice way to get the glass creations to do up your wedding is to have only one corner of the entire wedding done up in magnificent glass. This can be the stage or photo booth though we vote for stage because stage is a place where children cannot hover for a long time because of the inflow of guests thereon.
Now that we are done giving tips on incorporating glass in your wedding décor let us talk about our collection. We create our cards keeping our clients in view vis-à-vis the latest trends. Right from our to rest of the creations, we have a piece for everyone. So step into our online portal and be surprised!

Every wedding needs detailed planning right from the appropriate to venue and all the way to the wedding feast. We at KOC would like to add one more “to-do” in this long list- wedding favour. Popularly called return gifts, wedding favours are in trend and whether it is simple or a big budget wedding, every family is trying to accommodate this idea in the big scheme of things.
While we take care of your let us give you simple ideas that you can use for your wedding favours. Consider the sweet tooth of your guests and see them off with a box of chocolates, muffins andcupcakes with the couple’s name. In a winter wedding you can gift shawls and stoles at the venue itself. Your guests would keep themselves warm during the wedding and depart with the lush wool shawls on their shoulders. Spices are loved in all Indian households. You can gift a combo pack to your guests in attractive bottles and packing.
If the wedding is near New Year then calendars with pictures of pre-wedding shoot as theme can make for a very thoughtful gift. However, keep in mind that this kind of a gift is ideal only for close relatives and friends. If you are having a destination wedding, then gift something that is unique to the culture of that place. For example, if Kerala is your pick for destination, then gifting aromatic oils would make a lot of sense. The best point about this idea is cost factor. Floral table clothes and loads of roses are a must when it comes to a vintage theme. But before we talk about the décor, let us talk about the ride!
