A procession of Baraatis start out for the bride on the wedding. As they reach the venue, they are welcomed by the family of the bride and the groom shares a glass of sweet drink with his brother-in-law. In the Nikaah ceremony, the Maulavi seeks the consent of the bride thrice to accept the groom as her husband.

After his consent, the Nikahnama is signed by the couple and is succeeded by the recital of Khutba, a religious discourse. People express their happiness on the marriage and bestow their grace on the couple.
Post Wedding Rituals
After the wedding rituals are done, the bride is considered to belongto the family of the groom. She is bid farewell from her parent’s house in a ritual called the Rukhsat ceremony. Post the Rukhsat the married couple celebrates the marriage with the Valimah ceremony, which is a grand feast on behalf of the groom’s family.
